The Elliot is an adaptive reuse of the Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood. The church originally opened in 1910 and closed in 2015.
The Elliot has brought this once vibrant building back to life to serve as an event venue for weddings, community gatherings, and the like. Great care was taken to honor the architecture of the original church while adapting it to its new use.
The project features two main event spaces, The Ballroom and the Rosehip Room. The Ballroom features a grand staircase leading to a balcony with the Rose Window- a signature stained-glass window. A new rose centerpiece made of an estimated 800 pieces of hand-cut glass was added to the existing window. The Rosehip room is designed for cocktail hours and smaller events, it is equipped with a built-in stage and a 27-foot quartz bar featuring the building’s original stained glass.
