This modern single-family residence is located in a newer residential development overlooking the Chagrin River in Willoughby Hills, Ohio. The young couple who commissioned this home requested clean, distinctively modern features- a challenge in a neighborhood with design regulations that mandated standard pitched roofs, use of limited approved roofing materials, and an obligatory percentage of stone facade cladding.
The 3,700 s.f. two-story home features a large central living area that flows into the dining and kitchen spaces to create one large living volume. Exterior cladding includes two color tones of cement stucco with a stack-bond limestone base to anchor the 2-story residence visually to the site. “Inspired, creative, and cost-efficient” construction of this residence was completed by Payne & Payne Builders in 2012.
