This new single-family residence was custom designed for a unique wooded site on a secluded peninsula of land surrounded by the sloping adjacent valleys of the Cleveland Metroparks property in Brecksville, Ohio. The site’s wonderful woodland views and privacy allow the design to include large open areas of glass to facilitate a visual and “actual” connection to the generous outdoor pool and landscape spaces.
8,000 s.f. of overall living area is provided, including a generous walk-out basement, chef’s kitchen, and five bedrooms with dedicated bathrooms. A treetop ‘sky lounge’ provides a private entertaining space and deck overlooking the Cuyahoga River Valley.
The heavy timber framing of the home was fabricated by local Amish craftsmen of solid Douglas fir, while the majority of exterior facades are clad in locally-sourced limestone set in a dry-stack manner. Payne & Payne Builders constructed the residence, which was completed in 2016.
