Dimit Architects created schematic plans to convert the former University Club into the Martin House boutique hotel.
The historic building was built in 1918 in Akron, Ohio. Plans for the Martin House included 74 hotel rooms as well as a full-service restaurant, coffee shop/bar, meeting space, event space, historic ballroom & fitness center.
The historic structure was proposed to house most of the front-of house elements, while a new 25,000 sq. ft. addition would include hotel rooms and a large outdoor patio ideal for outdoor weddings and corporate events.
The project was awarded Federal and State Historic Tax Credits.
