Garden City is a cocktail-focused rooftop bar at the heart of the Van Aken District mixed-use development in Shaker Heights, Ohio. The project features a 2,150 sq. ft. indoor area and a 2,200 sq. ft. rooftop patio.

The building’s glass walls encouraged a rooftop greenhouse experience at the interior, where suspended bar shelving, a planter trellis, and air plant structure, host a variety of plant life. The rich greens are repeated in the custom furniture and are complimented by charcoal finishes and reclaimed teak flooring. A wood-burning fireplace centers the space, clad in bas-relief tile and flanked by a vibrant custom mural.

Large folding glass doors open the interior bar to the generous terrace, where citrus trees and lush planters surround lounge areas over tile and ipe wood pavers.
