The Forest City Savings & Trust and Seymour Block project was honored with a Preservation Achievement Award at the 2020 Celebration of Preservation.
A Celebration of Preservation is held each year to “recognize exemplary historic preservation projects across Northeast Ohio.” The event is a joint effort of the Cleveland Restoration Society and the American Institute of Architects Cleveland Chapter.
The Forest City Savings & Trust (built in 1904) and Seymour Block (built in 1878) buildings were connected on the upper levels in the 1940’s and have undergone substantial renovations to support mixed uses. Both buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the current renovation project was partially funded with both State and Federal Historic Tax Credits as administered by the National Parks Service/OHPO, in addition to 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) awarded by the Ohio Housing Finance Agency.
